Beach Drives and Tillamook Ice Cream

Our adventure continued along the scenic Oregon coast, where beach drives and creamy Tillamook ice cream became the highlights of our trip.

Our RV parks on this leg of the trip were Thousand Trails, South Jetty, and Pacific City. They weren't our favorites due to tight turns, cramped spaces, and a shortage of full hookup sites. However, Pacific City did have a wonderful walk to the beach that the pawsome absolutely loved.

Driving along the coastline, we were treated to breathtaking views of rugged cliffs, sandy beaches, and the vast expanse of the Pacific Ocean. The winding roads offered surprises at every turn, and my adventurous husband had a blast navigating the beach drives. The thrill of the sand beneath the tires added an extra layer of excitement.

Many lighthouses are sprinkled along the way, each with its own story and charm. From guiding ships safely to shore to standing as historic beacons, these lighthouses add a touch of coastal nostalgia.

We spent our days beach hopping, exploring the unique charm of each coastal spot. The sound of crashing waves and the salty sea breeze made every stop a refreshing escape.

A trip to the Oregon coast wouldn’t be complete without a visit to the Tillamook Creamery. This iconic creamery is a paradise for dairy lovers, offering a delightful array of cheeses, ice cream, and other dairy treats. For us Okies who enjoy Braum's and Blue Bell, Tillamook is a similar experience with one special twist—Huckleberry ice cream! It's a must-try flavor that adds an extra layer of deliciousness.

Besides ice cream, we couldn’t resist sampling Tillamook’s famous cheeses. We stocked up on our favorites for the road, ensuring we had plenty of tasty snacks.

The Oregon coast has a magical way of combining natural beauty with delightful experiences. Whether it’s the joy of a scenic drive, or the taste of creamy ice cream, this coastal journey was an unforgettable chapter in our adventure.
